Kill Zone Outfitters is pleased to offer waterfowl hunting in South Dakota. We have secured some of the finest property in the state, rich with ducks and geese like nowhere else in the U.S.
Most goose hunts are hunted from layout blinds in corn or grain fields.
We will be offering (3) different season hunts for waterfowl in South Dakota:
- Early Season Canada Goose Hunt (Opens first week of Sept.) 8 Goose Limit – Over The Counter License Avail.
- Regular Season Duck and Goose Hunting (Opens Early Oct.-Jan.) 6 Duck Limit – License by lottery, must apply by July 9th for all non-residents.
- Late Season Light Goose Hunt (Opens Early Feb-Mar.) Light Goose Only – No Limit – Over The Counter License Avail.

Early Season Canada Goose Hunting 2011
The Canada goose season includes brants.
Daily Limit: 8 from Sept. 3, 2011-Sept. 30, 2011; 3 for remainder of season
Possession Limit: Twice the daily limit
Spring Light Goose Hunting
This Conservation Order is issued annually for a spring hunt to control an overabundance of these geese. Light geese generally migrate into the eastern one-third of South Dakota in late February to early March.
Cost: $285 per person/day includes hunt, food and lodging.
Shooting Hours: One-half hour before sunrise to one-half hour after sunset.
Season Dates: February 11 – April 29, 2012
Daily Limit: Unlimited
Possession Limit: Unlimited
Legal Species: Snows, Blues and Ross’ Geese.
Nontoxic Shot: Approved nontoxic shot includes steel shot, bismuth-tin, tungsten-polymer, tungsten-matrix, and any combination of tungsten-iron-nickel-tin-copper-bismuth.
Electronic Calls: Use of tapes of migratory bird calls or sounds, or electronically amplified imitations of bird calls is allowed.
